Grand Falls, January 15, 2025 – During its monthly public meeting, the Council of the Grand Falls Regional Municipality unveiled its January community Grandiose, Josée Roussel.
Josée Roussel – Volunteer
Over 15 years ago, Josée Roussel chose to get involved with the region's Toys for Joy campaign and quickly became a key element in its success. Over the years, her dedication, energy, and generous heart have made an invaluable difference to this community initiative.
Her sincere desire to help and support this worthy cause contributes greatly to bringing smiles, hope, and joy to so many children and families during the holiday season. She's known as the “Toy Lady” when visiting numerous local businesses to purchase over 600 gifts, and her home is then transformed into Santa's workshop, where she wraps and labels the gifts with the precious help of family and friends. She then ensures the safe delivery and smooth operation of gift distribution to the many families in need.
Thanks to her willingness to participate wholeheartedly in this initiative every year, the committee and many others in the region are delighted by the real difference and the great contribution Josée makes.
Today, Council and I would like to recognize Josée's hard work, thank her for her unwavering commitment, and congratulate her for her much-devoted time in community volunteering.
The community is invited to submit nominations by completing the nomination form available on the municipality's website at: https://www.grandsault.com/grandioses.
