GRAND FALLS, December 12, 2023 – The Council of the Grand Falls Regional Municipality is now accepting nominations for its new Community Grandioses recognition program, which will be launched in January 2024.
With this policy, the municipality wishes to express its appreciation for its citizens who stand out through three targeted groups of people:
Volunteers: Any individual, regardless of age, who freely offers their time, energy, and skills to a cause or activity that enriches the lives of their fellow citizens in the Grand Falls Regional Municipality.
Ambassador: Any individual, team or group whose achievements reach the provincial, national, or international level and contribute to the reputation of the municipality. Recognized individuals must either reside in the Grand Falls Regional Municipality or be native to it.
Heroes: An individual who stands out for his bravery, his actions, or his role in a precarious situation, and whose intervention has made a significant difference.
"We are fortunate to be able to count on so many organizations and individuals who combine their efforts to build and cultivate a dynamic, lively and welcoming municipality. We believe it's essential to highlight the contribution of these groups and individuals, because to really thrive, a municipality requires its citizens to give of their time to beautify others," shared Bertrand Beaulieu, Mayor of the Grand Falls Regional Municipality.
"During the public consultations for the strategic plan, it was suggested that a volunteer recognition initiative be implemented. That’s why we’re proud that, starting next January, we’ll be periodically highlighting the commitment and successes of our volunteers," added Mayor Beaulieu.
People are invited to submit candidates by completing the nomination form available on the municipality's website at: https://www.grandsault.com/en/grandioses
