Richard (Rick) Blouin appointed Chief of the Grand Falls Police Force

GRAND FALLS, May 15, 2024 – At its public meeting last night, Municipal Council approved the appointment of Mr. Rick Boulin as Chief of the Grand Falls Police Force. Mr. Blouin will officially take office on May 25th. He will replace Mrs. Suzanne Themens who is retiring.

 

Deputy Chief of the Grand Falls Police Force since February 2023, Mr. Blouin has dedicated his career to law enforcement for more than 25 years. He has worked in key positions with various public safety organizations at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels.

“Mr. Blouin’s strong professional background impressed the selection committee. Mr. Blouin has a proven track record in policing, from field to unit command.  His vision, commitment to excellence and respect for the law are assets that greatly benefit the Force,” said Eric Gagnon, Grand Falls Regional Municipality CAO.

 

In addition to his varied field experience, Mr. Blouin also holds a master’s degree in education with a specialization in leadership and human resources. Driven by a sense of duty and integrity, Mr. Blouin recognizes that collaboration and partnership are essential pillars in maintaining a strong and safe community where it is enjoyable to live.

 

“We are confident that Mr. Blouin will use his experience and leadership to advance our Police Force. We would like to salute the exemplary work, professionalism and dedication of the current Chief, Suzanne Themens, who is about to begin a well-deserved retirement,” said Bertrand Beaulieu, Mayor of the Grand Falls Municipality.
