Vitalité Health Network, (GRAND FALLS) - Thursday, April 10, 2025 - Starting April 15, the emergency department at Grand Falls General Hospital will experience a slowdown between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. due to a temporary shortage of physicians.

The service remains open at all times, and medical coverage is ensured 24 hours a day.

All patients presenting to the emergency department will be assessed by a triage nurse. Patients requiring immediate medical attention will receive prompt care. Patients with less urgent conditions may experience longer wait times during this period.

Do not attempt to judge the severity of your symptoms yourself. If you have any doubts about your health condition, it is preferable to visit the emergency department for an evaluation by a health professional.

If you are unsure whether you need to visit the emergency department, you can also contact Tele-Care by dialing 811 for health advice.

Vitalité Health Network thanks the public for their understanding and cooperation.
